WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Hey Everyone! It was a hot one this past Saturday at Back 2 Basics,Falcon BMX for the double header, but it was quite the day alright! We had 116 riders with 37 motos the first race and 76 riders with 23 motos the second race. There were a couple of falls that I am sure the heat had something to do with; one ambulance ride for an unlucky collar bone that I hope heals up real soon. Otherwise, there was a lot of awesome racing going on with some really close finishes. Now if Jorn would only stand up AND peddle at the same time. Oh well!
Let's keep hydrated and in the shade as much as possible as the summer temp.'s are here to stay, although this is CT, so they will not be here very long.....!
A big thanks to "Where's Lou" for entertaining us through all of the motos! Let's not forget "Mrs. Money Bags" for staying to oversee things going on with the concession, what would we do without her and Wes taking charge of the food?!
No one got serenaded, I think the word got out that if I know it's your birthday we will sing about it.......maybe it's my singing(?)
Dan German was the track director's pick for Rider of the Week, he is an awesome Rookie always smiling; heading towards that Novice class real soon I am sure.
All the rain make-ups are done! Yessssss!!!!
I was announcing that I had heard that Radio Disney was planning on doing a live broad cast tentatively on Saturday July 12th. and I got word that it is going to happen. Yup, it's true, Radio Disney will be stormin' in and settin' up to "Ride, Rock & Roll" with contests, competitions and lots of free give-a-ways from sponsors they have provided. How cool is that??!! And even better...the winners of the contests will get put into a grand prize drawing for an all expense paid trip for 4 to the 2008 X-Games.
The single point team race just got a little more exciting for that day, huh?
Well, let's hope it doesn't you know what........RAIN.......!!
As for the track, well, we still have some improvements to do, but we are well on our way.
Triple Point forms are out there already so don't forget to get them in. It is never too early as I got some in the mail yesterday.
With South Park and NASCAR going on we were down some of our regular volunteers and luckily there were those of you who stepped up to the plate ( or track as the case may be) and helped out. You know who you are and I know who you are. THANK YOU!!!!!!
This weekend is a holiday weekend but we will still be racing at Back 2 Basics, Falcon BMX. It's not too early in the morning and doesn't go too late in the afternoon so come on down and ride!
Have a great rest of your week and I hope to see you Saturday!
